About the Re-Inventing Japan Project

The Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology’s Re-Inventing Japan Project aims to train young people who can go out into the world and make Japan proud. Its goal is to assure the quality of higher education through an international framework and to support exchange programs with Asian and American universities that conduct study abroad programs for Japanese students and that strategically accept international students.

In fiscal year 2012, while the Ministry indicated its policy to primarily fund programs carrying out exchanges between Japanese and international students of ASEAN countries in particular, 14 projects were selected among 71 applications from universities all over Japan.
