Dec. 10, 2014

On November 5, Meiji University invited Mr. Francisco Rivadeneira Sarzosa, Minister of International Trade of the Republic of Ecuador, to deliver a lecture to students. The lecture was held at Global Hall on Surugadai Campus and the theme was “Change of the productive structure of Ecuador and Commercial Policy towards Japan: Possibilities for the Future.”
As the TPP negotiations heat up, Japan has strengthened trade relations with Latin American countries, having already signed free trade agreements (economic partnership agreements) with countries such as Mexico, Chile, Peru, and Colombia. In the lecture, Minister Rivadeneira spoke to Meiji University students about his future vision for trade relations between Japan and Ecuador.
