On January 22, Meiji University held the final session of a series of six seminars titled “Thoughts on the UN Today, from Japan” at Liberty Hall on Surugadai Campus. The series was prepared to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the founding of the United Nations, and is co-sponsored by the UN Information Centre, Rikkyo University, and the International University of Japan. The seminar featured a talk session titled “Sowing the Seeds for the Future – To Eat is to Live,” by Kurara Chibana, a model and actress who serves as the Japanese ambassador for the UN World Food Programme (WFP). The session attracted about 300 attendees consisting of students and other visitors.
