Discussion of the Future of Private Universities by the Heads of Waseda, Keio, and Meiji Universities at an Educational Forum

On December 17, the Asahi Shimbun Company held its 2017 Asahi Future Education Forum titled “Considering the Future of Private Universities – Toward a Shift from Quantity to Quality” in Tokyo’s Ebisu district. The program was attended by Meiji University President Keiichiro Tsuchiya, Keio University President Akira Haseyama, and Waseda University President Kaoru Kamata.

The three university presidents made keynote speeches on the subject "University Presidents Discuss the Future of Private Universities", and then took part in a panel discussion including Mitsudo Urano, Advisor of Nichirei Corporation, titled "Thinking About a Future Vision for Private Universities – Toward a Shift from Quantity to Quality.” The forum served to deepen discussion on the future of private universities.
