International symposium held in commemoration of the 50th anniversary of GSBA
The Graduate School of Business Administration (GSBA) at Meiji University celebrated the 50th anniversary since its foundation in 1959. In that time, GSBA has turned out over 850 top graduates who have gone on to play leading roles in a diverse number of fields at top universities and companies both domestically and abroad, in the public sector and as certified public accountants and licensed tax accountants.

Using its 50th anniversary as a milestone for the future, GSBA held a commemorative international symposium on “21st Century Business Issues in North America, Asia and Oceania” as a part of its drive to further international research and education at the school.

In order to further establish Meiji University as an institution “open to the world”, representatives of seven universities from five countries along the Pacific Rim, as well as researchers from Spain, were invited to Tokyo to take part in the international symposium; an important means for disseminating international level research and education into the public domain. The event was hold over two days on Saturday the 31st October and Sunday the 1st November, 2009.

Following the conclusion of proceedings on the 31st October, a commemorative ceremony for the schools anniversary was held followed by a convivial gathering. On the 1st November research presentations were also made by Ph.D. students from each of the seven universities participating.
