RIIE will examine the infrastructure that exists to educate future global leaders (e.g., the function and systems of higher education institutions, policies and agendas for meaningful foreign exchange programs, gap-year systems in foreign countries and effective use in Japan, learning outcome assessment of international education programs, case studies of various educational programs such as international internships and volunteering, etc.). Based on this research theme, the institution seeks to answer the question: What kind of educational programs (including career education, study abroad, international internships, etc.) are most effective in producing future global citizens? In addition, it seeks ways to contribute toward global human resource development in the future. Research results will be shared with researchers and practitioners around the world who are involved in the field of international education.
