I was interested in Japan because of Japanese animated cartoons that were broadcast on television when I was in elementary school. I was wondering, "Are Japanese people cute like the anime characters?" and wanted to visit Japan someday.

After graduating from high school, I had the opportunity to come to Japan four years ago. Since then, I have been able to experience many things through study and travel. I spent my first year here studying the hiragana and katakana scripts, as well as basic grammar, at a Japanese language school. At first, the Japanese language seemed to be so easy, but soon I found it surprisingly difficult as my study progressed.

When I had to decide which to enter among many universities and vocational colleges in Japan, I was not confident but I applied for Meiji University because it was well known as one of Japan's leading universities with a long, distinguished history. Then I studied the basic mathematics and chemistry again, as well as Japanese. And now I am here, so happy and proud of being a student of Meiji University, my school of choice. I will continue to study hard until I graduate.
