Digital Content Studies

Using the computer as a tool and medium, digital content studies deal with all aspects of the production, distribution, and reception of images, music, and texts. In my research team, we are particularly interested in the fields of design anthropology and content criticism. By design, we designate intentions, meanings, and aesthetics materialized in our globalized culture and society. Criticism is actual reflection put into words on all human actions and their traces. In December each year, we hold a group exhibition of works and books at Gallery ZERO, Ikuta Library, with such titles as Walking as a Human Experience (2009), Trees (2010), and From the River to the Sea (2011). We also consider it our task to grow an ecological consciousness through on-site experiences of various landscapes of this archipelago.
