School of Science and Technology: Professor Matsuse is awarded the 49th Achievement Award from the Institute of Electrical Engineers of Japan

Professor Matsuse of the Department of Electronics and Bioinformatics, School of Science and Technology was presented with the 49th Achievement Award from the Institute of Electrical Engineers of Japan (IEEJ) on 27 May for his contribution to the development of power electronics and variable speed AC motor drive technology and the revitalization and internationalization of IEEJ.

This award is presented to those who take a leading role in the advancement of the Institute of Electrical Engineers of Japan in addition to having made a remarkable contribution to the science of electricity or a field closely related to it, or an outstanding achievement in the electric industry. It is the highest award of the Institute of Electrical Engineers of Japan, which is celebrating its 123rd anniversary, and 48 people have received it to date. Professor Matsuse served as the 96th president of the Institute in 2009.
