Related Event of UIA2011 Tokyo RE/MIXED The Horizon of Sustainable Architectural Design of Malaysia and Japan

Sep. 06, 2011

The Department of Architecture, School of Science, of Meiji University is introducing the “Environment-conscious, Sustainable Architectural Design (Green Architecture) in Malaysia and Japan”, in the related period of “UIA2011 Tokyo: The 24th Congress of World Architecture”. In this exhibition, Malaysia is reintroducing the “RE/MIXED” in the "Biennale Architettura 2010" in Venezia. As a counterpart, the researchers and architects of the Department of Architecture of Meiji University are showing their own research and design works on sustainable architecture. The department will start the “International Professional Program on Architecture & Urban Design” from spring 2013 to promote more intensive international education on architecture and urban design in Japan.
In addition, on the final day of the exhibition, the symposium regarding sustainable architecture will be held. Architects and researchers from both countries will participate in this event and discuss their works and future approach to sustainable architecture.
We hope, through this event, the cultural and academic relationship of the both countries will be more strengthened, and will be the key of the future development of Green Architecture in Asia and the world.
We would like to state many thanks to the organizations and persons who have painfully dedicated to open this event successfully.
