【Table Tennis Club】
On March 9, our Table Tennis Club’s victory in the 2013 Kanto Students Spring/Autumn League was celebrated at the Academy Common of the Surugadai Campus. Chairman Kenso Hidaka, President Kenichi Fukumiya and other university executives honored the athletes who achieved the victory.
Among the visitors was Mr. Ahmed Khaleel, Ambassador of the Republic of Maldives to Japan. Meiji University Table Tennis Club is planning to practice with national representative table tennis players from the Maldives in preparation for the ZEN-NOH 2014 World Team Table Tennis Championships in Tokyo, which will be held at the Yoyogi National Stadium Yoyogi 1st Gymnasium and the Tokyo Metropolitan Gymnasium Main Arena from April 28 to May 5; the Club also wishes to have an international exchange. Ambassador Khaleel expressed his gratitude, “ our athletes’ level is not near to the level of Meiji University Table Tennis Club; however, we appreciate the opportunity for our athletes to meet and practice with such a strong team as the Meiji University Table Tennis Club”.
