On November 17, an international symposium titled “Financial deregulation in China and Japan -The Risk and the Chances-” was held at the Global Hall on the Surugadai Campus of Meiji University. The symposium was co-hosted by Meiji University and the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. It was a venue for discussion on the current state of and issues in financial deregulation, the internationalization of the RMB, and other topics. Ever since their conclusion of a partnership agreement in 2010, Meiji University and the Chinese Academy have continued to pursue programs of academic interchange. The symposium was the first event to be hosted by the two schools in fields other than historical science and archaeology.
