Jun. 15, 2015

The Law School Gender Law Center (Director: Law School Professor Miyoko Tsujimura) invited Madame Danielle Bousquet, President of the France High Council for Equality between Women and Men (Haut Conseil a l'egalit entre les femmes et les hommes), and a seminar on gender equality in France and Japan ("Les politiques publiques en faveur de l’égalité des sexes en France et au Japon") was held on May 8, at the Liberty Tower of the Surugadai Campus.Recently, a gradual widening of government initiatives to boost advances made by women in society is observable from an economic perspective, but current Japanese realities of low fundamental awareness of equality between the sexes, an inability to adopt active policies due to an overwhelmingly low proportion of female Diet members and so on, were shared.
