The 3D art exhibit “With Syria” sending a message of support to Syrian refugees from Japan was held on November 17 and 18. A huge work of “trick art” portraying the streets of Aleppo, the city in the northern part of Syria devastated in the civil war, was exhibited in Phoenix Square in front of Liberty Tower on the Surugadai Campus. This work was created in order to convey the current situation in Syria, where many lives have been lost and more than 4.9 million people have become refugees since the outbreak of the hostilities. It was displayed in front of the United Nations headquarters in New York in March 2015, and generated great interest.
