An open house event was held at the Meiji University ASEAN Center in Bangkok, Thailand on November 9th and 10th to showcase the activities of Meiji University to prospective Thai high school students.

The event was held in conjunction with an open house being held simultaneously by Meiji University’s partner institution Srinakharinwirot University, where the ASEAN center is located. The initiative drew about 10,000 visitors to the open house, mostly high school students, with about 300 taking the time to visit the center.

Over two days, a number of former Meiji International Exchange Students volunteered to interact with interested visitors, explaining both the attraction of Meiji University and its study abroad program to applicants interested in studying overseas.

In addition, a social gathering was also held for former Meiji International Exchange Students, providing them with a means to foster mutual friendships and maintain and strengthen ties with Meiji University. Approximately 30 people participated in the gathering, establishing the Thai Meiji University International Student Alumni Association (tentative name) based on calls from participating students. The group currently has a membership of about 50 people.
