Handling of university events related to measures being taken to mitigate new coronavirus infections

On February 21 this year, the university posted the third report on "Measures against Novel Coronavirus Infections” on our website and notified organizers to reconsider the necessity of holding events sponsored by the university.

However, with the rapid spread of new coronavirus infections, in order to reduce the risk of the spread of infection across universities as a whole, an "emergency headquarters" was established. At the headquarters meeting, the basic policy for university events, scheduled to be held by the end of March this year, was decided as follows.

This university will continue to deal with issues related to protecting the health of students, teachers, and other relevant personnel as a whole. We ask for the continued understanding and cooperation of all relevant personnel.

1. The following activities and events shall be canceled or postponed in principle.
(1) Educational activities including intensive classes and seminar camps (Both in Japan and abroad)
(2) Extracurricular activities such as training camps, games, and live performances organized by extracurricular activity groups, such as Official Clubs
(3) Lectures, workshops, events, social gatherings, etc. using campus facilities

2. Business trips shall be canceled or postponed in principle. Research trips, etc. should be canceled or postponed if at all possible. However, if it is difficult to postpone or discontinue research trips, etc., the decision should be made at the discretion of the individual, while ensuring sufficient safety.

3. If circumstances arise in which the above measures are to be cancelled before the date they apply we will inform everyone concerned in a timely manner.
