Graduation Ceremony Notice for the 2020 Academic Year

The Meiji University Graduation Ceremony for the 2020 Academic Year will be held as follows:

Owing to the limited capacity of the venue (Nippon Budokan), there will be two ceremonies, one in the morning and one in the afternoon.

‘Determination of graduation/completion of studies’ notices will be sent by post in early March 2021, after these determinations have been made in the respective undergraduate and graduate schools.


Date:
March 26, 2021 (Fri.)

[Morning ceremony]
Start: 10:00 AM (doors open one-hour prior); Finish: 11:00 AM
Schools of Law, Commerce, Arts and Letters, Business Administration, Information and Communication

[Afternoon ceremony]
Start: 1:30 PM (doors open one-hour prior); Finish: 2:30 PM
Schools of Political Science and Economics, Science and Technology, Agriculture, Global Japanese Studies, Interdisciplinary Mathematical Sciences, Graduate Schools, Professional Graduate Schools
* Students are not permitted to attend the ceremonies for undergraduate and/or graduate schools for which they are not enrolled.

Venue:
Nippon Budokan (2-3 Kitanomaru-Koen, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo)

Access:
Take the exit from Kudanshita Station on the Tokyo Metro Tozai and Hanzomon Lines or the Toei Subway Shinjuku Line
*Please do not arrive by car.

Please note:
(1) Measures will be in place in order to prevent the spread of new coronavirus infections. These are in accordance with those established by the central government and the Tokyo Metropolitan Government.
(2) Due to the need to limit the number of people entering the venue, the ceremony is only open to students who are receiving their degrees.
(3) In order to ensure the lowest possible risk of infection at the venue, family members will not be allowed to enter.
(4) The ceremony will be broadcast on the Internet
(5) Degrees and other certificates will be sent by post. Details will be announced separately.
(6) The ceremony may be postponed or cancelled if there is a significant increase in the number of people infected with the new coronavirus, if a state of emergency is declared, or if something of the kind should happen. The university will provide further information when, and if, such a situation arises.
