A month in Victoria certainly helped me grow up. On weekdays, after attending the lectures of positive teachers, I enjoyed shopping with my friends. On weekends, I went sightseeing, shopping and camping with my host family and their relatives. Also, I took a short trip to Vancouver. During those days, I absorbed a lot of English expressions very quickly, and I realized the importance of having the courage to express my ideas without wasting time consulting my dictionary. It was an amazing month and I really gained an enthusiasm to study harder.

I joined IBP program to experience the different life style and way of thinking of people in a foreign country. While studying at Portland, I talked with many people without the fear of failure. I had a wonderful time there. My teachers were white, my classmates from Asian countries, and my host family black; seeing them helping each other enjoy everyday life together, I realized that people are essentially the same. It was a valuable month for me to think about humanity.
