Cooperation Agreement with Chung Yuan University (Taiwan)


On July 12, Meiji University concluded an inter-university cooperation agreement with Chung Yuan University (Taiwan).

President Hiromi Naya, Vice President Etsuko Katsu (International Exchanges), and Professor Hiroyuki Mori from the School of Science and Technology attended the signing ceremony at Meiji University. From Chung Yuan University, President Wan-Lee Cheng, Dean of the College of Science Shih-Ping Tung, and Dean Ying-Yi Hong of the College of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science joined the ceremony. They signed and exchanged copies of the agreement.

Prior to the conclusion of the agreement, Professor Hiroyuki Mori and Associate Professor Teruhisa Kumano from the School of Science and Technology, Meiji University, Dean Ying-Yi Hong of the College of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, and Mr. Takeshi Yamada, chief of Power System Technology Group, Engineering R&D Center, Tokyo Electric Power Company, organized and held an international symposium, Japan-Taiwan Power System Symposium 2009 (JTPSS 2009), in April 2009 at the Academy Common, Meiji University. Moreover, on April 29, 2010, Professor Hiroyuki Mori and Associate Professor Teruhisa Kumano delivered a lecture at Chung Yuan University, which has contributed to deepening the relationships between the two universities.

Chung Yuan University originated as a Christian college established in 1953 with departments of Agriculture and Engineering. It became a university in 1980. It is an urban university located in Chung Li City, Taoyuan, Taiwan, and has 26 departments under 7 colleges with 24 master’s courses and 12 doctoral courses.
