Graduate School of Business Administration English Course in
Double Degree Program

This Double Degree program will be organized under the auspices of the Business and Advanced Technology Centre (BATC) of Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM).  For this program, Meiji University Graduate School of Business Administration (GSBA) and BATC will deliver 3 types of courses for the students participating; the spring course, summer course, and the year long courses, to proceed with the program.  Upon completion of the program, each student will receive a Master of Business Administration from GSBA, and Master of Science in Business Engineering from BATC.  Graduates of this program will have gained knowledge from the fields of both the social sciences and the natural sciences along with international competence.
An intensive course will run in the spring and summer in both Kuala Lumpur and Tokyo by professors from each institution.  GSBA professors will teach at the Meiji University Malaysia Satellite Office at UTM.  In the spring, GSBA will hold intensive seminar type courses in Tokyo. Additional seminar type teaching will also be held yearly through the distance education system.  BATC will hold intensive courses during the summer and send professors to Japan to give short-term intensive lectures.
The following courses are provided: Transnational Management, International Family Business, Organization and Organizational Behavior, Marketing Management, Strategic Management, Business Development, Human Resource Management, Strategic Accounting, Environmental Accounting, Strategic Information Systems, International Marketing, Service Marketing, Work and Economic Organization in Japan, Japanese Companies Overseas, Information Ethics and Field Study.  All lecture courses are worth 2 credits each.  Students will also need to take 8 credits worth of seminar courses which are 4 credits each.  BATC students enrolled in this Double Degree Program will take advantage of the cross appointed accreditation systems for graduation by completing 36 credits of course work and submitting a graduation thesis.

BATC will offer the following courses for GSBA students in the Operations and Technology area.  Research Methods in Engineering Business, Operations Strategy, Technology Management, Project Management, Supply Chain Management, Logistics Management, Maintenance Management, Management Information Systems, Quality Management, Statistical Methods, Operation Research, Simulation of Operations, and 8 courses in the Business and Management cluster of subjects.  Lecture courses count for 3 credits each and students would need to complete a total of 6 credits for their projects.  GSBA students will take advantage of the cross appointed accreditation systems and acquire 42 credits of course work and submit a graduate thesis.

GSBA is planning to organize a curriculum which will allow students to take courses on a yearly basis to accommodate students intending to aim for a double degree with us.  We hope to upgrade our curriculum to foster graduates with high international competency.
