hen I decided that I wanted to study chemistry, I wondered if there was a better environment in which to study, and I started to consider studying in Japan. Japan has winners of the Nobel Prize in Chemistry and is very advanced in chemistry. I thought there could be no better environment in which to study. I was also interested in Japanese television dramas and music, and I wanted to learn about Japanese culture, so I decided to study in Japan.

It was at such a time that I learned about Meiji University, which has a variety of experimental courses and a rich assortment of inter-departmental courses and foreign language courses. Since I wanted to experience Japanese culture through my studies overseas, the fact that there were many classes that were not science-related was attractive. I thought that classes with students from different schools would provide opportunities to meet a diverse range of Japanese people.

Now, I am glad that I enrolled in Meiji University. There are extensive facilities for studying and the university supports students’ academic efforts. Additionally, support for international students is also provided in various ways. There are Japanese language classes, events to experience Japanese culture, and events that revolve around international students. Furthermore, there is a consultation office for international students, where university staff help international students with their problems. These support systems and the kindness of the people at Meiji University allow me to enjoy my life studying abroad without worries.

The Ikuta Campus, which is where I attend classes, is in the center of the city, yet slightly removed from the hustle and bustle of the shopping and entertainment districts, and I can feel even more of a sense of Japanese-ness within nature. On sunny days, I eat lunch outdoors with friends and enjoy nature while feeling a distinctly Japanese atmosphere that is quiet and relaxed.

I am really happy to be able to come to Meiji University to study and I am positive that my choice was the right one. Meiji University makes one grow and provides an extremely good environment in which to fulfill one’s dreams while receiving a lot of support. If you are considering studying overseas, come to Meiji University to study together with me and fulfill your wishes.
