The way to explore Japan in all aspects

ince the age of 15 I have been passionate about Asia. Over the course of several years I travelled to many countries in Southeast Asia, but not to Japan.

After high school I entered Plekhanov Russian Economic University. I chose the International Business School Department, because it actively encourages students to engage in exchange study abroad. As a sophomore it was suggested that I go to Japan the following year. Japan seemed to me the mysterious heart of the Orient in all aspects, although I was slightly concerned about plunging into a totally different environment. Another downside was my failure to learn good Japanese.

I cannot describe how surprised I was after arriving. My poor Japanese skills did not matter at all. People at Meiji University were very kind and wonderfully helpful in solving organizational and daily issues.

For four months I was totally absorbed in interesting student weekdays and joyful weekends. I learned valuable lessons on Japanese business management, got to know about the many-sided Japanese culture, and experienced cultural differences as well. In addition, I improved my Japanese, met many fascinating people, tried all kinds of traditional cuisine, and went to lots of astounding places.

I am totally happy and content with my exchange study experience.

Thank you, Meiji University!
