Meiji University - the Place Where my Dreams Come True

fter I graduated high school, I thought seriously about the path I should take for my future. I was also influenced by my father who worked in trade between Japan and China. I dreamed of also becoming a man who would be valued by both countries and act as a bridge between cultures. With those ideas, I decided to study abroad at a Japanese university.

Among the many famous universities in Japan, the one that most caught my interest was Meiji University with its School of Commerce. With its traditions and history, there is a varied curriculum at Meiji University's School of Commerce. However, what I felt to be most interesting among these offerings was the "Double Core" program, a superior study program that was not available at other schools or universities. The "Double Core" program allows students to simultaneously study two courses; commerce specialized seminar and comprehensive interdisciplinary seminar. And since it can be taken from the second year of study, for 3 years of your university time you can broaden your specialty and education concurrently, and learn deeply. Currently, at the commerce specialized seminar I'm studying global business, and at the comprehensive one I'm using English to do research. Every day I am embracing studying the two subjects I like fully and to my hearts content.

Furthermore, entering Meiji University allowed me to experience first hand the school's free-spirited tradition of cultivating each student's individuality. Around me are many friends with their own respective strongly held individual personalities and ways of thinking. I have many friends with freedom and energy. I have been able to meet many Japanese people and make friends at the Meiji University campus. Also, although I'm in a Japanese university, there are also a lot of chances to interchange with students studying abroad from all the countries. Whenever I had a problem or was confused in my life as an foreign student, there are many kind teachers who will give me advice with a smiling face at Meiji University. I feel that by giving me such strong support, Meiji University has colored my life as a foreign student and gives me the courage to move forward.

Even as I look back now, I think I really made a good decision to choose Meiji University. The reason this is because I have been able to meet irreplaceable friends and teachers in my life at this university.
