Apr. 19, 2024

Counselor Crespo and students

Fifteen students of TOKORO Yasuhiro seminar members from the School of Commerce visited the Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba to Japan (Minato City, Tokyo) on March 27 and interviewed four diplomats on the topics of natural disasters and disaster prevention, the Cuban economic system, education, tourism and traditional culture.

While the students asked questions from various aspects, including the Cuban government’s disaster risk management measures, the diplomats responded on a wide range of measures, including the content and operational systems of the Directive on Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (issued by General Manager of the National Disaster Prevention Headquarters on November 22, 2022) in detail.

This seminar has been held as part of the ongoing academic exchange with the Cuban Embassy since November 2023. The final research results presentation meeting, attended by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, is scheduled to be held in the academic year 2024.
