As we enter the twenty-first century, national and local governments have been implementing policy based on the principles of decentralization reform and regional sovereignty for some time. In contrast, the Graduate School of Public Policy was established as an integrative graduate school with the aim of fostering regional endogenous development through horizontal collaboration with outside regions both at home and abroad. Using this approach to public policy, the school works to cultivate sophisticated political and administrative professionals equipped with the extensive knowledge, broad perspective, penetrating insight, advanced analytical abilities, and refined judgment needed to tackle the increasingly complex and specialized problems facing our modern world.
