The Boardsailing Club participated in the 2023 Japan Universities Boardsailing Championship (Intercollegiate Championship), which was held from November 15 to 17 off the coast of Okuma, Kunigami-son, Kunigami-gun, Okinawa. OSHIMA Shunya (4th year, School of Commerce) won the championship and NAITO Shinnosuke (4th year, School of Law) was runner-up. In addition, TODA Chiharu (3rd year, School of Arts and Letters) finished fourth in the ladies' class.

As there were no races on the third day of the competition due to inclement weather, the competition was decided based on the results of a total of eight races conducted on the first and second days.

Comments from OSHIMA and NAITO
OSHIMA Shunya (Assistant Captain)
When I first started competing, I didn't imagine I would be able to win the Intercollegiate Championship, but ever since I entered the club, the driving force for me to immerse myself in competition and work hard has been the environment, the awareness, and the aspiration of being the best team in Japan. Therefore, I owe this championship to all the people involved, including the alumni, my classmates, and my juniors, who have worked constantly to build the best team in Japan and taught me everything I needed to know for competition when I was inexperienced.
I think it would return the favor if we continued to prevail as the best in Japan in the team competition in February, so I will work hard for the rest of my competitive life rather than resting on the laurels of this result.

NAITO Shinnosuke (Captain)
I am very happy to have swept first and second place with OSHIMA, who has been competing with me since I was a freshman. This result feels like a big step toward the team's biggest goal of winning six consecutive intercollegiate team championships. We will continue to push forward as a team so as to maintain this momentum until the team competition.
