TOGAMI Shunsuke of the Table Tennis Club (4th year, School of Political Science and Economics) has been selected as a national table tennis player for the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris.

TOGAMI fought for his third consecutive men’s singles title in the 2024 Emperor's Cup and Empress's Cup All Japan Table Tennis Championships from January 22 to 28. The final against HARIMOTO Tomokazu (Tomokazu Kikaku) was an intense match. TOGAMI was defeated by a narrow margin, but he secured a ticket to the Paris Olympics.
TOGAMI will also participate in the 2024 World Team Table Tennis Championships to be held in Busan, South Korea, from February 16 to 18.

Comment from TOGAMI
First of all, I’ d like to thank everyone for all the support at the All Japan Table Tennis Championships.
It was a bitter defeat that I will never forget, but I was able to keep fighting aggressively to the end, and I strongly believe that I can become even stronger.
Also, the Paris Olympic trials for two years were a real struggle both physically and mentally, but thanks to the support from the supporters and teammates at the Meiji University Table Tennis Club, I finally made it.
At the World Championships in February and the Paris Olympics in July, I hope I can play good games to cheer people up in Japan and those affected by the Noto earthquake, and I will try hard to win the gold medal.
Thank you for your support.
