[School of Science and Technology] Meiji University (Professor OGURA Atsushi, School of Science and Technology) adopted as a joint R & D partner of NEDO's R & D project Technology Development for Beyond 2nm and Short TAT Semiconductor Manufacturing

Mar. 04, 2024

Meiji University will participate in the project of New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization (NEDO), Post-5G Information and Communication System Infrastructure Enhancement R & D Project / Development of Advanced Semiconductor Manufacturing Technology, as a joint R & D partner, as NEDO has decided to conduct research on Technology Development for Beyond 2nm and Short TAT Semiconductor Manufacturing proposed by the Leading-edge Semiconductor Technology Center (LSTC).

Professor OGURA Atsushi of the Department of Electronics and Bioinformatics, School of Science and Technology (Director of the Renewable Energy Research Institute) will lead the research and development.

This technological development will not only improve the performance of semiconductors, but also shorten the length of time for the time-consuming semiconductor manufacturing process and enable early introduction of products to the market. It will also make a significant contribution to strengthening our country's semiconductor manufacturing competitiveness and reclaiming its semiconductor market share.

Furthermore, the rapid improvement of AI performance due to the evolution of semiconductors and the introduction of short TAT production technology are expected to enable us respond to more social needs and contribute to solving social issues and promoting DX (Digital Transformation).
