MEXT Scholarship program (Embassy Recommendation)

1. Selection Schedule

Please follow the instruction by the Japanese Diplomatic Mission in your country.
*Schedule will depend upon each country.
 
When you are enrolled in Meiji University, your status will be non-degree (research) student. In order to become a degree student (Master / Doctoral / Professional degree) after your arrival, it is necessary to take an entrance examination of your desired graduate school and pass it during the designated period by MEXT.
 

2. To apply for “Letter of Acceptance” from Meiji Univ.

 If you would like to have “Letter of Acceptance” from our university, please send us the documents below BY POST, after you pass the primary selection by Japanese diplomatic mission in your country.
 
1. Application form for 'Letter of Acceptance' on MEXT Scholarship Program
 
2. Certificate of the primary selection issued by the Japanese diplomatic mission
 
3. 2 sets of the same documents (photocopies) as those submitted to the Japanese diplomatic mission upon application
        - Application Form (a prescribed form) *attached with Photo
        - Placement Preference Form (a prescribed form) *attached with Photo
        - Field of Study and Research Program Plan (a prescribed form)
        - Academic transcript of each academic year of the last university attended (issued by the university attended)
        - Graduation certificate or degree certificate of the last university attended (or an attested document certifying 
          that the applicant will graduate from the school, where applicable)
        - Recommendation from the principal or the adviser of the last university attended
        - Recommendation from the present employer (if currently employed)
        - Medical Certificate (prescribed form)
        - Abstracts of theses
 
4. Certificate of your Japanese/English proficiency, such as EJU, JLPT, TOEIC, TOEFL, IELTS, etc. (if any)

 *We do not accept electronic data.
 *You do not need to contact your desired supervisor, prior to your request.
 *We do not accept your application after the deadline, 31st of August, 2017.
 *Please be advised that the process of your document evaluation at our university will take certain period of time,
 especially during summer holidays (from 1st of August). 
 *We will post “Letter of Acceptance” to the address listed on “Application form for 'Letter of Acceptance' on MEXT
 Scholarship Program”, if you pass the evaluation. In case you are rejected, we will inform you of the result by e-mail.
