Encouraging cross-disciplinary integration of the humanities and sciences in education and research activities allows us to communicate mathematical concepts to society and use them to build a better world. The Graduate School of Advanced Mathematical Sciences uses cutting-edge mathematics to clarify the complex systems that appear in nature, society, and biological organisms, and then drives social innovation by returning the results of this research to society as a whole with the aim of contributing to a better life for all humankind. With this as a guiding principle, the school works to develop professionals who have a sophisticated and broad understanding of mathematics, which allows them to interface with a variety of phenomena and act as a bridge linking mathematics with other sciences. It is mathematicians like these who will be equipped to make their mark on an international stage.
