Special measures to defer admission for international students following the Great East Japan Earthquake

Meiji University has decided to implement special measures that allow the deferment of the admission period for international students who were planning to enter the university in April 2011, but have been unable to do so due to the recent Great East Japan Earthquake.

International students wishing to make use of these special measures should read the information below and contact the International Student Office.

1. Eligibility
International students who were planning to enter Meiji University in the 2011 school year (and who had completed all admission procedures), but who are currently unable to join the university from April 2011 due to the earthquake disaster, and wish to defer university entrance.

2. Period of admission
April 1, 2012
(Students planning to enter Meiji University through the School of Global Japanese Studies’ English Track Admissions Examination may also choose to enter the school from September 20, 2011.)

3. Method of application
Consult the International Student Office in advance, and fill out the necessary information in the designated Application Form for Deferment of Admission ( International Students), and submit it with other application documents.

4. Deadline for application
Monday, April 25, 2011 (Applications postmarked with this date will be accepted.)
However, the university will deal flexibly depending on the circumstances.

5. Handling of tuition fees
Tuition and miscellaneous fees that had already been paid at the time of admissions procedures will be returned and collected when students actually enter the school.
Applicants for deferment of admission are requested to bear the bank transfer charges arising from the return of tuition and other fees.
