On February 28, 4th Fire District HQ of the Tokyo Fire Department, which covers the wards of Shinjuku, Nakano, and Suginami, conducted an emergency rescue drill at our Nakano Campus and adjacent Teikyo Heisei University. The drill was on a large scale with more than 20 fire trucks and ambulances and approximately 400 people participating. The scenario was that a toxic substance flowed out in Teikyo Heisei University; people practiced calling emergency services and guiding evacuation. The Fire Department demonstrated rescue procedures and self-defense fire departments of both universities took part as well.
