“Making the World Richer from International Waters - Governance in Conservation and Use”
After the public presentation, proposal documents were submitted to Ocean Policy Minister Ichita Yamamoto



The “Research Society of International Waters Governance”, co-sponsored by Meiji Institute for Global Affairs* (MIGA: Director, Professor non-tenured Ryozo Hayashi) and the Ocean Policy Research Foundation (OPRF) have compiled a joint policy proposal entitled “Making the World Richer from International Waters - Governance in Conservation and Use” for which a public presentation was given in Tokyo on June 13. The report demands stronger measures from Japan and international society to protect international waters, which are facing a crises such as ocean acidification, global warming and loss of biodiversity. After the presentation, the policy proposal was handed to the Minister in charge of Ocean Policy and Territorial Issues, Mr. Ichita Yamamoto.
