On November 17, an international symposium titled “Financial deregulation in China and Japan -The Risk and the Chances-” was held at the Global Hall on the Surugadai Campus of Meiji University. The symposium was co-hosted by Meiji University and the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. It was a venue for discussion on the current state of and issues in financial deregulation, the internationalization of the RMB, and other topics. Ever since their conclusion of a partnership agreement in 2010, Meiji University and the Chinese Academy have continued to pursue programs of academic interchange.
