[Important Notice]
Changes in the AY 2020 Academic Calendar (starting day of classes and orientation schedule) in Accordance with the Impact of the spread of the Novel Coronavirus Infection

Classes for AY 2020 were scheduled to start at Meiji University on April 8. However, due to the growing impact of the novel coronavirus infection in Japan, we have decided to prioritize safety and health considerations by making a change to the Academic Calendar for AY 2020. The starting day of classes will therefore be postponed to April 22.

As a result of this change, a guidance will be conducted through the distribution of videos and downloaded materials via the Internet as far as possible, except for some events. This measure is being taken in order to minimize the necessity for students to attend university until the start of classes.

Details of the guidance including issuing Student ID Cards, etc. , which was originally scheduled to start from April 1 for new students as well as the guidance for current students will be announced on the School page of our website. Please check the page of School to which you belong for the latest information.

Please note, depending on the situation of the novel coronavirus infection in Japan, the class start date may be delayed further. If there are any further changes, we will announce them by April 2 on the website, so please check for this as well.

Many of you may be feeling uneasy about the future of your university life due to the novel coronavirus infection. In order to give our students and stakeholders peace of mind during this period of uncertainty we are planning the establishment of a support system and other measures so that everyone can view their future university life with a positive outlook. In that spirit we ask for your understanding of this decision.
