Announcement of the cancellation of the AY 2020 Fall Graduation Ceremony and handing out of degree certificates on the day and of the Fall Entrance Ceremony for AY 2020 because of the spread of new coronavirus infections
In view of the recent rise in coronavirus infections in the Tokyo metropolitan area, Meiji University has decided to cancel the events scheduled for Saturday, September 19, 2020; the Fall Graduation Ceremony and the handing out of diplomas for 2020, and the Fall Entrance Ceremony for 2020.
It was a difficult decision considering the feelings of the graduates, new students, their families and interested parties. However, our top priority is to prevent the spread of infection and to protect the health and safety of our graduating students, new students, their families and anyone else involved. We ask for your kind understanding.
Alternative arrangements will be made for "issuing diplomas", originally scheduled for the same day as the Graduation Ceremony. The new arrangements will be announced on the university's website around August 31, so please check it out.
