A new sensation: recording and reproducing taste - Dr. Homei Miyashita (Professor at the Department of Frontier Media Science, School of Interdisciplinary Mathematical Sciences, Meiji University) has been introduced on National Geographic website.

Dr. Miyashita has found a way to reproduce taste, just as we’ve long been able to do for sight and sound.

 
  
                     The six different gels (including one that is tasteless) inside the part of the Taste Display that transmits flavor to the tongue.
