Shooting Club wins overall championship at the All Japan University Sport Shooting Championship

Nov. 26, 2021

Shooting Club entered the All Japan University Sport Shooting Championship held from November 11 to 13 winning both the men’s and women’s overall title (Moroo Memorial Award). This was the 4th championship win in a row for the women and the men were runner’s up. This meant that the Shooting Club kept up their fine form continuing on from being both the overall men’s and women’s titles at the 2021 Kanto University Sport Shooting Fall Championship.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the championship was simultaneously held at five different places nationwide and our Shooting Club participated at the Nagatoro Shooting Range. Many alumni came to the championship from Fukui, Mie, and other prefectures all over Japan to cheer and share the joy with the participants.

Comments from the Captain and Head Coach
Captain: Rei Mochizuki(4th year in the the School of Information and Communication)
I am elated we were able to win the men’s and women’s overall championship, which we were previously unable to do, during my time. I would like to thank all of those that supported us along the way. Shooting is still a minor sport in Japan, but I hope many people will learn about the attraction of the sport through our actions.

Head Coach : Tomoki Sahashi
I am so happy that, in our club’s 100th year, the women’s team won their 4th consecutive All Japan University Sport Shooting Championship and the men were overall runner’s up with the club winning the overall men’s and women’s title (Moroo Memorial Award) on total points. This is the result of all students doing their very best. I would like to thank the students for their hard work and all those people who supported them.
