The shooting club won the women’s team all-around competition for the third time in a row at the 2023 Kanto Student Rifle Shooting Fall Championship held at Tochigi Prefecture Rifle Shooting Range from September 14 through 17.
In the individual competition, MIURA Rio (3rd in the School of Commerce) won the women’s 60-shot 10-m air rifle and MIYOSHI Akari (4th in the School of Agriculture) won the women’s 50 m rifle three postures. Further, the men’s team was the runner-up in the tournament, and four other players won prizes in individual competitions.
Reflecting on the tournament, Head Coach TSUBA Kyohei said, “I think they were able to show off the summer training results, thanks to the outstanding performance of the younger students. We want to win the overall men’s and women’s titles in the All Japan Student Championships in October,” and OSHIO Hayato (4th in the School of Political Science and Economics) said, “It was a great achievement towards the All Japan Student Championships in October. In the next competition, we will work hard to win both men’s and women’s team championships and win as many individual championships as possible.”
