The shooting club participated in the 2023 Kanto Student Rifle Shooting Championship Spring Meeting (sponsored by The Students shooting - sport Representative Association of Japan, Kanto Branch) held at the Tochigi Shooting Range from May 12 to 14, and won the men’s and women’s team all-around competitions (60 shots in 50m rifle three positions + 60 shots in 10m air rifle standing position), respectively. This is the second consecutive time the team has won the men’s and women’s championships at the same time, following the 2022 Fall Championships.

The club also excelled individually: winning first place in the men’s individual 60 shots in 50m rifle three positions with OSHIO Yuto (4th year, School of Political Science and Economics), third place with SUZUKI Kota (3rd year, School of Global Japanese Studies), first place in the women’s same event with NOBATA Misaki (2nd year, School of Commerce); first place in the women’s individual 60 shots in 10m air rifle standing position with NOBATA, third place with IZUMIDATE Reika (4th year, School of Global Japanese Studies); and first place with OSHIO in the men’s and women’s individual 60 shots in 50m rifle prone.

Comment from Head Coach TSUBA Kyohei
In this first competition of the season, we were able to win the all-around team championship for both men and women in all events. I think this is a very valuable victory for us to create a trend going forward.
I am also very glad that the individual winners and many other members of the club won the prizes. All the members of the club are determined not to break this trend in the future.
