YANAGIYA Takashi (graduated from School of Commerce in 1975) has been reappointed as the Chairman, Board of Trustees, and Professor UENO Masao (graduated from School of Law in 1980) as the new President of Meiji University on April 1. Chairman YANAGIYA is in his third term. President Ueno will be Meiji University's second post-war president (sixth in total if you include the pre-war period) to be a former judge, after YAMAMOTO Shinichi (tenured from May 1980 to March 1989).
The term of office of the Chairman, Board of Trustees, which was reappointed on April 1, is from April 1, 2024 until the conclusion of the first Board of Trustees at the University Council in 2027 (scheduled around June 2027).
