Winner: HASHIZUME Shunsuke (1st-year pre-doctoral student, KOIKE Yuya Laboratory)
Award name: Young Poster Award
Conference name: The 73rd Annual Meeting of the Japan Society for Analytical Chemistry
Dates: Wednesday, September 11 – Friday, September 13, 2024
Venue: Nagoya Institute of Technology
Presentation title: Thermal analysis of oleic acid water-repellent-treated municipal solid waste incineration fly ash
Presenters: HASHIZUME Shunsuke, SEKINO Rina, SHIRATA Hibiki, KASEDA Taiga, HONDA Takayuki, KOIKE Yuya
Research content: This study estimated organic substances formed on the surface of fly ash by thermal analysis regarding the oleic acid water repellent treatment method, which is effective in controlling elution of heavy metals in municipal solid waste incineration fly ash. It is considered that a multifaceted analysis combining both organic and inorganic analytical methods, including thermal analysis, was highly evaluated.
