Nov. 13, 2024
Meiji University ranked first in the ranking of universities to which students want to apply (Kanto-Koshinetsu area) in the Admission Brand Power Survey 2024 that Recruit Shingaku Souken announced on July 31. The survey has been conducted by Recruit Shingaku Souken to ascertain the degree of application, name recognition, and image of universities, and this year’s survey was the 17th such survey. The survey method was partially changed this fiscal year, and in April 2024, the survey was conducted on third graders of 343 high schools in the Kanto-Koshinetsu area under the new area classification.
The survey was conducted for the first time since COVID-19 was classified as a Class 5 infectious disease and when the frequency of students attending the campus, including classes and extracurricular activities, was increasing. Perhaps because of this, in a question about the most important items when considering where to go to university, “I think I could enjoy my student life” (43.3%) was the top answer. We can see that, for high school students who are considering where to go to university, not only good access to transportation and learning, but also whether they can have a fulfilling campus life are important criteria. In second place was “Favorable for finding a job” (42.2%), and in third place was “I think I could grow” (37.2%). We can also see that high school students are looking ahead to their university life and beyond, for example, how much they can grow while in university and looking ahead to their careers after graduation.
The results showed that the University’s efforts to reform education and improve the educational environment and also the University’s career support have attracted high attention from high school students who are considering universities.
