[School of Agriculture] CHIBA Yuto, JSPS Research Fellow PD wins the Excellent Poster Award at the JSME’s 37th Annual Meeting in Hiroshima

At the 37th Annual Meeting of the Japanese Society of Microbial Ecology (JSME), which was held at the Hiroshima International Conference Center from Monday, October 28 to Thursday, 31, 2024, CHIBA Yuto (PD, Research Fellow of the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science), a member of the Laboratory of Plant Nematology, Department of Agriculture (Associate Professor SHINYA Ryoji), received the Excellent Poster Award in the young scientists category.

Research fellow CHIBA’s presentation title was “Comprehensive search for Caenorhabditis elegans infectious RNA viruses,” and in this research, he succeeded in obtaining multiple candidates for Caenorhabditis elegans infectious viruses.
This achievement is expected to lead to a new understanding of the evolutionary history of viruses and virus-host interactions.
