IZAWA Naoto, a second-year student in the School of Political Science and Economics and a member of the Judo Club, competed for and won the Men’s 81 kg weight division of the 2024 All Japan Student Judo Championships held at the Nippon Budokan in Chiyoda City, Tokyo, on October 5 and 6.
IZAWA entered the championships from the second round. IZAWA won the quarterfinal 14 seconds into the game and the semifinal 7 seconds into the game, both with an arm shoulder throw. In the final, IZAWA won the game with kuzure-kesa-gatame, one of the holding techniques in judo. In the first 45 seconds of the final, he took the victory and won the championships for the first time.
