Professor Motoki gave an academic report at an international academic exchange meeting between Chifeng University College of Agriculture and Meiji University School of Agriculture
 
The Laboratory of Vegetable Science (Professor MOTOKI Satoru) of the Department of Agriculture participated in the international academic exchange meeting between the College of Agriculture of Chifeng University and the School of Agriculture of Meiji University on August 14 at the College of Agriculture in Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, China, and made an academic report.

Chifeng University, which was founded as Chifeng Teacher Training College in 1957, is a university with 56 majors. Professor MOTOKI of the Laboratory of Vegetable Science, and YAMASHITA Sayaka (second-year master’s student), who was selected as a member for the Meiji University Graduate School International Exchange Program, visited several agricultural areas in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region and Shenyang City in Liaoning Province from August 9th to 18th, and engaged in international exchange (information exchange), including local surveys and guidance on asparagus.

International exchange between the Laboratory of Vegetable Science and College of Agriculture of Chifeng University

The Laboratory of Vegetable Science has been conducting international exchanges with College of Agriculture of Chifeng University for two years. The Laboratory accepted Professor Bao Long of the College of Agriculture as a visiting researcher for one year from 2023 to 2024. As a result of research between the College of Agriculture and the Laboratory, an international co-authored paper with Professor Bao Long as the first author, Professor MOTOKI as the corresponding author, and students of the Laboratory of Vegetable Science as joint authors, was published in an (overseas) academic journal.

On March 20, 2024, when Professor Bao Long of the College of Agriculture was invited to Meiji University, Professor Zhao Xuemei (dean of the Faculty of Agriculture) and Associate Professor Li Nan of the College of Agriculture at Chifeng University visited Meiji University’s Ikuta Campus (the Laboratory of Vegetable Science and Kurokawa Field Science Center (the head of the University Farms is Professor MOTOKI), and engaged in international exchange (exchange of information) with students of the Laboratory of Vegetable Science.

On March 21, these professors participated in the Meiji University Field Day 2024 Spring, held by the Laboratory of Vegetable Science, under the theme of “Asparagus from the viewpoints of consumers and producers.” They also participated in the information exchange meeting for international exchange (information exchange) with students of the Laboratory of Vegetable Science as well as companies, local governments, and members of JA, which are joint research partners of the Laboratory.
