On September 19, Meiji University held its 2024 Academic Year Autumn Graduation Ceremony at Academy Hall on the Surugadai Campus.
President UENO Masao, YANAGIYA Takashi, Chairman, Board of Trustees, KITANO Masaru, Chairman, Alumni Association and the deans of each department participated in the ceremony to celebrate the new stage of 346 students (258 from the undergraduate and 88 from the graduate school & Professional Graduate Schools).

To begin the ceremony, President UENO presented diplomas to the graduate representatives, UENO Asahi from the School of Science and Technology and KOUKI Yasunori from the Graduate School of Professional Accountancy.

President UENO delivered words of encouragement to the graduates in his address. “Many things you have experienced during your time at Meiji University, including these experiences, will become increasingly meaningful as the years go by and will greatly enrich the lives of each of you.”

In the following congratulatory address, Chairman, Board of Trustees Yanagiya said, ”In your new environment after graduation, I hope that you will not only work diligently in your chosen field, but also cultivate a strong sense of ownership of the various problems and issues worldwide. Then create a vision of how society should develop in the future and what you should do to realize it. With the unshakeable “individuality” you have acquired at Meiji University, and with the indomitable Meiji spirit in your hearts.”

As representatives of the graduates, UENO Asahi delivered a valedictory speech. He reflected on his university life, in which he focused on club activities and seminars. “I am confident that I will be able to make full use of my experience at Meiji University even after I become a member of society,” he said emphatically, expressing gratitude to his family, teachers, and classmates.

The graduation ceremony was closed with Meiji University’s school song, the graduates began taking firm strides into their new “world.”
