The Swimming Club competed in the 100th All Japan Student Swimming Championships (hereinafter “Intercollegiate Competition”) held at the Tokyo Aquatics Centre in Koto City from September 5 to 8, and won the overall men's championship, its second consecutive overall championship.
The swimming competition was a team competition in which points were awarded based on the results (rankings) of each event. HIROSHIMA Ikuru (4th in the School of Political Science and Economics) winning the men’s 200meter breaststroke in 2:09.09, a new personal best. He also competed in the 200-meter individual medley, finishing in second place. TABUCHI Kaito (4th in the School of Information and Communication) won the 400m freestyle, and YANAGAWA Daiki (4th in the School of Political Science and Economics) came in 3rd in the 100m backstroke. GOMI Tomonobu (4th in the School of commerce) won the 100-meter freestyle, and the fourth-year students led the way to a succession of podium finishes.
Out of a total of 489 points, 146 points were scored by the 4th year students, they won back-to-back intercollegiate championships to celebrate their final victory.
