HIGUCHI Wakaba wins the gold medal in Skate America, the first event of the Grand Prix Series, marking her first Grand Prix Series title!
HIGUCHI competed in the women's competition in Skate America, the first event of the Grand Prix Series, held on October 19 and 20, JST, and secured first place overall. In the short program on the 19th, she placed fourth with 66.12 points. In the free program on the 20th, she scored 130.81 points with the highest scores in spins and steps, despite some errors, including a planned jump combination that ended up as a single jump. With a total score of 196.93 points, she came from behind to secure first place overall, impressively clinching the gold medal. HIGUCHI won her first Grand Prix title.

MIURA competed in the men’s competition in Skate America, the first event of the Grand Prix Series, held on October 20 and 21, JST, and secured a third-place finish overall. In the short program on the 20th, he placed second with 99.54 points. In the free program on the 21st, he executed outstanding jumps, successfully landing his first three, starting with a triple Axel. Despite a GOE deduction in the second half, he secured third place with 179.13 points. With a total score of 278.67 points, he brilliantly won the bronze medal, finishing third overall.
