IMVAST, a part of the Vietnam Academy, was established in 1969 and has more than 60 faculty members (including researchers) with doctoral degrees and about 60 graduate students (about 30 in both doctoral and master’s programs).
The Japan-Vietnam Joint Seminar on Commutative Algebra was held 11 times between 2001 and 2023, jointly organized by IMVAST researchers and members of the Department of Mathematics, School of Science and Technology. In March 2008, MIMS and IMVAST signed a cooperative agreement on education and research. The addition of the School of Science and Technology to the existing agreement is expected to further strengthen academic ties between the three institutions and deepen mutual understanding and cooperation.
